Concept Plan for a New Sunshine Coast Parkway
Made with Xara Web Designer

OK.........here's a map of the "Route
201" Plan as we call it........a
proposed route of the second
highway based on what we know
about the highway layout of the
1990's. It's only a discussion
proposal that would have to be
properly planned out, engineered,
etc, etc.
The final highway may not even
look like this, but we would promote
use of the area around the power
lines as a logical placement of the
highway in order to limit extra c
lear-cutting.
This plan calls for a 4-lane road,
from Gibsons to Sechelt, to be built
as soon as possible in order to plan
for steady growth on the Coast. The
time is now to begin planning and
building this highway instead of
waiting another 20 plus years when
congestion will be beyond frustration
and costs will be prohibitive.
The planning for tomorrow should
begin today.

April 2nd Road forum at Davis Bay Hall.
This results in the formation of a steering
committed for the group.
April 3rd The steering committee met and
planned a general strategy of how to
proceed.
The Society becomes a reality.
Now the highlights of happenings since our
formation:
May-June Several meetings were held, a
board of directors was formed from the
steering committee and we became an
incorporated society. We got our website up
and running.
We have held meetings generally every
two weeks since the Society was formed.
Our Board of Directors has been very busy
over the past 15 months and we expect that
we shall continue to be a hard working
board. The commitment to be a director in
this Society has been and continues to be
taken very seriously, and it's paying off.
